The 20th Century Limited was one of the most famous train lines. It ran from 1902 to 1967, traveling between Grand Central Terminal in New York City to Lasalle Street Station in Chicago. Once a year, vintage enthusiasts ride the Hudson River Rail’s beautifully restored Hickory Creek and Tavern Lounge-43 train cars from New York City to Albany. In this image, a passenger checks his era-appropriate watch to see how much time he has before the train’s departure, or perhaps he’s posing for a photo. We may never know.
